Of course, none of this would be possible without the help (and by help we mean doing absolutely everything) of the WMU Computer Club. They set it up, they troubleshoot it, and they deal with our frantic e-mails when disaster strikes and the stream goes down. They’ve also, unbeknownst to them, killed a lot of us many times over in Team Fortress 2, but we’ll leave that for another time. Thank you, WMU CC!

Trying to listen to your station on line. Not sure If I’m I’m doing it right. I have choosen Webstream. I want to listen to the show later.

Every once in a while I can listen to this station. Never by clicking on the web stream. Only by typing the url into my windows media player. But that works only about once a month or so. If it never worked I could undersand, but only working once every so often is such a tease.
We pride ourselves on being that busty chick from 8th grade who knew she had what everybody wanted…..but was too much of a bitch to give it up.

A great way to ensure that the webstream stays up 24/7 is to donate during our annual fundrasing week (WIDR Week). We dont have the bandwidth to host the stream at our own facilities, so it has to be hosted elsewhere, but then runs the risk of going down and us not having access to it.

What happen! Everything was fine with the link I had on my I-tunes, getting pod cast and Live shows. About several weeks ago nothing as far as live broadcast were concerned. I’ve tried downloading the link on the home page with no luck and figure this can be that complication so what going on.
Denis, right now our webstream is sadly down. There’s nothing wrong with your computer, it’s all on our end. You should still be able to get podcasts of all your favorite WIDR shows through our iTunesU page (there’s a link on the homepage in the upper right) and that might satisfy your WIDR cravings for the time being. Think of them as the WIDR patch: not quite the same, but enough to keep you from scratching at bugs that don’t exist.
As soon as it’s up and running, we’ll update the site and our Twitter feed with the good news.
I’ve prayed to God, Buddah, AND Yahweh; still no WIDR webstream.
Also, you tweeted yesterday “If you dont live in kazoo, dont worry! WIDR fm is available everywhere by listening to our live webstream at http://www.widr.org! #DoIt #WIDR”. So after doing three backflips, I promptly directed my browser to your webstream and still nothing. What gives?
Hmm…that is a tough one, Mo. As with any tech thing, there could be an issue between the stream and your browser. I was able to listen using iTunes, Windows media player, Winamp, and RealPlayer. Have you tried loading it through a media player instead of your browser? That might do the trick for you.

It also occurs to me, Mo, that it might just be a matter of the webstream getting overrun with people happy to have it back. That happens sometimes even when we’re running perfectly. Give it a few minutes and try again.

I’ve tried through every music player I have: itunes, winamp, and windows media player,bBut i can’t get the url of your stream to work! I don’t own a radio, so I can’t to figure out how I can solve this problem!
Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with you: we had some outage problems over the past 10 days or so, and some of the back end stuff needs a bit of tweaking before *everyone* is able to get the webstream again. Keep an eye on our Twitter feed and once everything is back to normal, you should be able to stream. If not, let us know and we’ll help you get it sussed out.
